Sumping waluh is among the conventional Indonesian desserts originating from the island of the gods, Bali. The principle ingredient used to make this steamed cake is pumpkin, which in Balinese is named “waluh”.
Aside from pumpkin, the principle ingredient for making sumping waluh is rice flour.
INGREDIENT :
500 gr rice flour
500 g pumpkin
1/2 coconut half younger, grated lengthwise
250 gr granulated sugar
1/2 tsp salt
150 ml sizzling water
Banana leaves for wrapping
HOW TO MAKE :
1. Peel the pumpkin then grate it with a grated sawut, add salt, let stand quarter-hour then squeeze.
2. Soften 250 grams of rice flour with sizzling water whereas stirring, add the remaining, add sugar, coconut, salt, pumpkin, knead till easy.
3. Wrap like a shorter nagasari (3 cm lengthy) with banana leaves, steamed till cooked.
4. Take away and serve.
