The form of the ring cake with a gap within the center instantly reminds us of a cake known as a donut.
The primary distinction between donuts and ring truffles lies in using flour.
The ring cake makes use of the primary ingredient within the type of rice flour, whereas the donut cake makes use of wheat flour. Ring cake is a standard Betawi cake. In the meantime, in West Java, this conventional cake is named kue ali agrem.
INGREDIENT :
250 gr rice flour
75 grams of outdated coconut, coarsely grated, brown roasted
100 gr sugar
1/2 tsp salt
100 gr brown sugar
2 pandan leaves, conclude
150 ml water
Edible oil for frying
HOW TO MAKE :
1. Boil brown sugar and water till it boils and dissolves, pressure after which pour into rice flour whereas scorching, combine nicely.
2. Add the roasted coconut, sugar, and salt. Knead till the dough is easy.
3. Place in a container and canopy with a humid fabric. Depart in a single day or for 8 hours at room temperature.
4. Type a small ring from 1 tablespoon of dough, fry in plenty of oil till it floats and turns golden brown. Raise, drain. Serve after chilling.
