The first web browser was released in 1994, and the web has been around since then.
That means that when email and web-based communications were first invented, the world of social media was already in place.

The internet is a wonderful platform for the internet companies to reach out to people, but it’s also a platform that has created a world where we can’t all talk to each other, and there is no one way to talk to anyone.
