Wood County Auditor’s office says it’s not aware of the fraud case
By Andrew DeMilloPosted November 02, 2018 09:59:08The office of the Wood County auditor, which oversees the county’s pension and retirement funds, has been under fire from critics who say the office’s investigation of an alleged fraud case is far from complete.
Wood County Auditor Dan Egan announced in a memo Wednesday that his office is working to determine if any criminal or civil violations occurred.
That investigation is in its preliminary stages and no findings will be made public, Egan wrote in the memo.
Egan did not provide details of the allegations against him.
His office was founded in 2017 and has offices in Woodford and Rockford, and he is expected to leave office next month.
